Color Guard
This painting features a grotesque gargoyle paired with a beautiful chimera, both at the top of a stone pillar of an urban building. The chimera is mostly flesh, covered with bright tattoos, but her feet and hands are of stone, rooting her to her position as unsleeping sentry overlooking the darkened city. The stone/flesh dichotomy is a common Biblical theme.
